changing songs into ringtones help???

i have a sony ericsson walkman and i hav alot of songs on it, when i try to set the songs to ringtones it wont let me, but it lets me use it for messege alerts. is there a way i can make the songs into ringtones?

1. well i have the same phone that i just got. I have figured out that the mp3 format full songs are just too large for ringtones. even though it lets you use them as message alerts, in the message alert it only plays like 10 seconds of the song. well you can go to http://www.mytinyphone.com/p/make-ringtone/ and then make a ringtone out of a full song for free. then upload it onto your phone. That is basically what i do. Oh and if the ringtone doesn't work in My music on your phone move it to the ringtone folder. I hope that helped :D
2. Dear It is an easy option that u have select the song as a ringtone, it might u may having a wrong format , just use mp3 format songs, and u it will work, Or else search some ringtone convertor software in the web and try
