how to convert Video into mp3 or similar sound extension?

How do i convert a video (mp4, wmv, etc.) into an mp3 or similar style that can be made into ringtones. There must be a FREE site that makes sence out there lol. Note: I know of many ringtone creation sites, this question is for the conversion of video into mp3 not mp3 into ringtone. Thanks all
