How do I make ringtones for my LG Chocolate?

I have a LG Chocolate KG800. I researched on a lot of websites about to how to make ringtones and they all didnt seem to work. My mp3 files on my phone are really long so I cut one down to 13 seconds and it didnt work, then I tried one with 6 seconds but it also failed. Is there ANY way of making my mp3 files into ringtones? btw, i take my songs from my iTunes and copy and pasted into the music file. THANK YOU

2. go to itunes and chose the song that you want as a ringtone> right click>get info >options tab> where it says start time type in the time where you want the song to start and where it says end time type in the time where you want it to end (most LG phones use 15 -20 second ringtones) now click OK Right click the song again but this time click on convert to mp3 format (it should appear with the time that you put in) drag it to your fone and make it your ringtone! dont forget to go back to the original song and uncheck the start and end time so that it plays normally the next time you want it to play
3. record a sound on your phone. send it to yourself. when you get it, save it as ringtone. i have the same phone.
