Download totally free ringtones

Is there any way to convert/use itunes files/songs into ringtones for tmobile dash?

I have the "new" tmobile dash that came out earlier this year, and as of now i can only use songs that i have uploaded from cds onto my pc as ringtones. I tried to do it with songs/files from itunes and no such luck, just get errors on the dash. Just wondering if there was anyway of doing that, or if it is possible at all. THANKS!!
