How do I make music into ringtones?

Well, I have the LG Swift from Alltel. And I also have a 512MB MicroSD card that I can hook to my computer. I don't have the cable to hook my cell phone up to a PC. Is there a way to make a song into a ringtone via my MicroSD card? Or maybe with a PC connection cable?

2. I don't know how to make songs into ringtones, but a lot of phones can read mp3 files as well. I know my current nokia phone as well as an LG phone can read mp3s, so maybe you might wanna try copying an mp3 on the microsd card and transferring it to the phone.
