How do i transfer ringtones from 1 phone, to another?

I have a micro SD card,can i put it in my friends phone, put her ringtones on it & then put it into my phone & get the tones onto my phone? She has the Motorola Adventure & i have the second generation LG Chocolate. & we both have Verizon wireless & by the way. i dont have text/pic/or video messaging. or bluetooth.
