Download totally free ringtones

Where can I download a program that converts songs into ringtones?

I just bought a cellphone from Verizon and the worker said he downloaded a program called wave length or something, but I can't find it. I need a phone that converts the mpg file to a file suitable and short enough to be a ringtone. Any idea where I can download that program?

1. Depends on the type of phone. A lot of older phones use MIDI (or a file format similar to MIDI) for ringtones. They are not wave form audio. Rather, they store music notes. They cannot (or very difficult to) be converted from regular audio files. You can use free tools to make your own though: http://ringtonetools.mikekohn.net/ Most phones today take MP3 for ringtones.
