Download totally free ringtones

How do I download free ringtones on my LG Scoop (alltel network)?

I don't really want to have to pay for ringtones (and have found many sites that let you make your own from the music you already have--which I love). However, I can't get the ringtones to load on my phone. The only format it will let me download in is something that is three letters and starts with a "q" but cannot be used as a ringtone. When I download ringtones that I buy the show up in MP3 format, but it will not let me save anything to my phone in mp3 format (it says it is not supported even though I know that is a lie). Not only do I not want to pay 3 dollars per ringtone, but I am a broadway buff and many of the the songs that I would like to have just don't exist on normal places you can buy ringtones. Can anyone help me? I have used mixer, mymixer, mobile23, and other sites like that, and like i explained, it didn't let me download it to my phone because it won't let me use mp3 format and that's the only one allowed to be used as ringtones. as nice as it is to get sites if I can't download it to my phone it's not helping me. that's really what the question is about.

3. http://www.ventones.com is the only site that works with Alltel and FREE, i know, I have 2 alltel phones and it works awesome, ive tried all the other sites, and they never worked, Ventones does, go there, and make all the ringtones you want for your scoop
