- Just because you're not paying for them doesn't make them illegal..personally I think people who pay for ringtones are half retarded. You are going to need a program called Bitpim and a program called Audacity (just google them). Audacity is a stupid-proof program used to edit any audio, which you'll be using to save only a certain part of the song you want to use as a tone. You'll want to go to HowardForums.com and find out exactly what to do with your particular model phone, but as far as I know this method works for most of them I STRONGLY recommend an SD card but if you don't... When you plug your phone into your computer's USB port..open BitPim and explore the folders brew\16452\lk\mr drag your ringtones into that folder, unplug, phone off, phone on, VIOLA! now WITH an SD card (which I really hope you get they're cheap and are dead useful... put your card into the SD card reader that goes into your USB port (buy an SD card reader once again cheap and dead useful) and make a folder named ringers. Drag your tones in there. Put your card back into the phone and plug your PHONE into your USB. Go into BitPim, click on get phone data and check ringtones and OK. Then when the program is done reading click Send phone data and click on ringtones, check Replace all, then OK. When the program is done writing, unplug, phone off, phone on, VIOLA! Any more ringtone changes will simply repeat the steps for this method. Good luck!
- i always get my ringtones from one place:
- As for the music, the best way is to buy CD's and import the music. That way it's 100% legal, and their the best quality. For ringtones, I use this site: http://www.freelayouticons.com/ringtones It's worked for me for over 6 months now, never had any problems. Hope you find what you're looking for. Take care.
