How do I make ringtones for a Verizon Vcast Phone (cdm8945)?

I have a cheap Verizon Vcast phone (cdm8945) and I have a 512 memory card in it. I can download music tones so should I technically be able to make my own? When I put music (no matter what the length) onto my card It just wont work as a ring tone. Any special format or location to do this? Thanks.

1. i heard of this software that can be put on your phone that recognizes your mp3 and let you select them to use as a ringtone it was m-tone or something. try download ringtones from the web and see if it work though.
2. hi! check first what format of ringtone your phone supports, second check also the length it allows (you can refer to the manual) on ringtones. or maybe you need to convert it first using program like i got from internet. it supports verizon.
