how can i convert my songs in my i-phone into ringtones for free?

i have an apple i-phone, but i couldn't use the songs in my i-phone as the ringtone for free. i want to do it for free. anyone please help!

2. dude i have had the same problems in the past and it would take too long to explain it it has to do with which version of i tunes your using, what firmware your phone has like is it 1.1.1, 1.1.2,1.1.3,or 1.1.4 , what you can do is find out all what i just said and go on youtube and type in how to put free ringtones on the iphone it is a little lenthy process but if you want free ringtones on something apple intended you to pay for you got to do it. i hope that info helps, plus on you tube you can actually see them do it plus pause and rewind stuff like that.
