They just seem to either allow you to download ready-made ringtones or compress the music to a smaller size. I just want to extract the chorus. Any ideas?

Why does my verizon phone transfer MP3 formated ringtones into QCP format? I have a Samsung U740 and i use Myxer.com or Mobile17.com to send ringtones to my phone. Does the w810i (sony ericsson) have the capability to play mp3 songs you input into it as ringtones? I transfered songs as mp3 files on my w810i phone and tried to set them as ringtones but it says "cannot use file". so i tried to trim the track down to 30 sec and 20. but it still said "cannot use file" but i am able to use it as an alarm signal and message rigner but not a ringtone. im getting a bit frustrated because i use to have the w600i and i had to trouble. so if anyone konws what format it should be or how it can be done it be a great help. thaks
