Ringtones? I have a new Sony Walkman Sony580i. I'm pretty skilled with phones, computer, technology but I'm stumped. I've uploaded free games to my phone, I've uploaded photos to my phone, and even songs to my MP3 that my phone has. The only problem I am having is uploading my own ringtone from my computer to the phone. I used to have Slvr, and I did that all the time. I would take a song that was on my SD card on my Slvr, move it to my phone and make it a ringtone. Yeah, not working with this phone. I do not have internet access on my phone; so text linking me to free ringtones do not work. I've tried moving the song from my SD card to my phone and applying it as a ringtone and it wont. I know I'm supposed to be able to check with cingular but Ive had the phone for 3 days and they keep saying info unavailable at this time.
How can I make my songs into ringtones? I assume this is part of their stupid ploy to get me to purchase their ringtones. But they only have crappy choices! My phone has the ability to play music, and to set audio I record with it as ringtones. But it won't let me use my music files as ringtones. I can't think of any good reason why this is case. I think I may have to convert them from .m4a files to .amr I'm sure other people are annoyed by this, too. Anyone figure out how to do it? I have a "Samsung SYNC SGH-A707"

Ringtones? I have a small local carrier in Iowa called Iwireless. How can I add ringtones from my Mac to my Sony Ericsson Z310i? I bought the USB cord to connect my Sony Ericsson z310i to my MacBook, as I was told when I purchased it that it would allow me to transfer mp3s or midis to my phone as ringtones, but I can't get my MacBook to recognize that the phone's hooked up so I can transfer the files. I'd also be interested in transferring photos back and forth from my phone to my laptop. Can anybody help?
